K Tempest Tumbles

I'm K. Tempest Bradford, a writer, blogger, tech geek, and all around nerd. I'm such a big science fiction/fantasy/speculative fiction fan that I even write it (I know, pretty hard core!).

I have a non-Tumblr blog and that's where the majority of my long-form posts go. This blog is for my more fannish activities, link sharing, and squeeness.

Reflective Fractal Buildings by Carsten Witte

Peering into the glass facades of skyscrapers looming ominously overheard can be a bit like gazing into a crystal ball: if you look at it when the light hits it in just the right spot, you might see something that’s usually not there… the future, the fairest maiden of them all, or the eye of Sauron. Carsten’s reflective photography stares back at you, its glass panes contorting reality and the undulating cityscapes surrounding it.

Beer Can Butterflies by Paul Villinski

At first glance this is just a gorgeous sculpture of a guitar slowly deteriorating into butterflies, until you check out Paul’s website to find out that the butterflies are all made of empty beer cans he finds in the streets of New York: “every one of them once raised to someone’s lips. My process of ‘recycling’ them into images of butterflies is a quiet physical meditation, a yoga of tin snips and files and fingers”.
