‘I think I may be the only person in the fandom who doesn’t much like Sarah Jane Smith. She’s all right, yes, and I’m sure Lis Sladen was a lovely woman, but since her return to the series she seems to have risen to a level of importance over most other companions which is especially stupid when you consider that a large proportion of her ‘fans’ have never seen her original episodes.’
I bet this anon is mad that Sarah Jane is taking love away from Rose. Awww, poor sad you.
Also, I’m wondering how this anon could know that the fans have never seen her original episodes? Because it’s not as if they’re lost to history. I watched like 7 on Netflix last week.
Does this anon not realize that, long before Rose, Sarah Jane was one of the most popular Doctor Who companions ever? I didn’t know very much about the show when it first started, but one thing I did know is that SOOOOO many people loved Sarah Jane. She was already raised up above other companions in popularity before she returned tot he show. It’s WHY they had her back on the show. Helloooo.
