Ianto’s got the greatest one liners. But I’d be lying if I said the way Gareth David Lloyd acted at Chicago TARDIS didn’t effect the way I now see the character when I watch it. I just can’t help it. He was a massive douche and was practically stoned the entire convention.

And he held an entire conversation with my dog. Yeah. He was so stoned, he was responding to statements made by my dog that only he could hear. Was the same at Hurricane Who, too.

I’ve heard rumors for a couple of years that the reason Ianto was killed off is Gareth’s drug problem. I’ve also heard many, many anecdotes of him being stoned at conventions so I have no trouble believing these rumors.

It’s sad because I love Ianto so, so much and think Gareth played him perfectly. But I can also understand that someone who can’t stay off drugs must be really difficult to work with.
