A little about me …  age 35, grew up near the poverty line in a single-wide trailer, worked my ass off in college (which I paid for 100% on my own through a combination of student loans, grants and work while maintaining a full course load in a hard sciences major and minor), have held two jobs for 20 years, do not feel the world owes me shit, believe anything I gain or lose is due to me not a corporation, … so in essence, you cannot imagine the immensity of the fuck I do not give. But keep the comments coming :)

P.S.: If you want a $100,000+/year-paying job, move to North Dakota, you Pity Party Asshats (they are giving them away).

you do understand that student loan and grant programs are government assistance though, right? so you do understand you actually didn’t do this “all on your own” right? and you do… understand that… earning 100,000 a year doesn’t put you in the 1% right? it puts you pretty high up in the 99%, but you aren’t the 1%. you’ll never be the 1%. but… if what you’re doing makes you feel better, you gon head and do it, boo boo.

if you were the 1% you wouldn’t be sporting that $14.95 Fantastic Sams haircut, either.

Funny all that fancy shit and he didn’t learn empathy. Shocking.

A long time ago someone told me that the reason politicians can always get people to vote against their own interests on economic policies is because people seem to think they are The Rich or have a chance at being The Rich and therefore don’t want to have horrible taxes put on them. The comment above saying “Hey, you’re not the 1%, asshole” reminded me of that because, yeah, this guy thinks he’s The Rich and that he’s not being shit on my our economic policies and Wall Street, but he is. Because he is better off financially than lower class people, he thinks he’s that guy from the Monopoly game.

It’s not a surprise he has no empathy. He’s a white man who is obviously blind to his enormous privilege. Empathy rarely comes hand in hand with that.
